Ian’s career has focused over the years towards commercial pre-acquisition surveys, building pathology, dilapidations, party wall disputes and more recently, rights of light. He undertakes a range of project work and monitoring. He was a founding steering group member of the RICS Dilapidations Forum. He has both spoken and written on this subject matter and is equally suited to both defending as well as preparing dilapidations claims, having acted for many blue chip landlords and tenants over the years.
Ian is also an Assessor for the RICS Assessment of Professional Competence for Building Surveying and has provided guidance and training to many candidates preparing for their assessment.
When not working, Ian enjoys the great outdoors and especially striving at any improvement on the mysteries of the golf swing.
